Wooden headframe at Blötberget
Bergsverks AB Vulcanus was founded in 1900 to mine the Blötberget ore deposit. There was already a railway to Blötberget, so the mine buldings were built adjacent to the track. Vulcanus was under german/dutch ownership until 1945. In 1939 the company had 345 employees. 192 worked under ground. Ore output was 246388ton.
The headframe in the image was one of the last wooden constructions in Sweden, built in the 60's. It stands on top of the ventilation shaft also used as an emergency exit.
