Works of scraping in a bauxite mine
|
This scraper made by Fournier Mouillon was used around 1970 in a french mine of bauxite. An electric power-driven winch with two coaxial drums allows the movement of a hoe of scraping, by means of a towing cable and of a cable of return, both guided by return pulleys. In the background, we see the station of load.
The use of the scraper was very wide-spread in the subterranean works exploiting an irregular layer of ore, because of its flexibility and the facilitaty to move the equipment from a place to the other one.
